Queensland Government Stamp Duty
The Queensland Government collect Transfer Duty, also know as "Stamp
Duty" on most property transactions in this state. It is collected
by the Office of
State Revenue.
The purchaser is responsible for the payment of this duty.
Purchasers who
are going to live
in the house or unit, or other dwelling, as their first primary
place of residence are eligible for a discounted rate. People
who are purchasing their first home to live in, enjoy a larger
discount, paying no transfer duty if the price is $320,000
or less.
